Micro-Pile

Drilling micto pile

Micro-pile is another type of pile which is act as a supporting structure to transfer the load from the building to the ground. As the name implies, micro-pile is small diameter piles constructed by the drilling process. There is various diameter of micro-pile can be found in the market ranging from 100mm to 400mm. Of late, technological advancement in machinery has made it possible for micro-pile of much greater diameters to be constructed.

Micro-piles are small diameter drilled and grouted friction piles. Each pile includes steel elements that are bonded into the bearing soil or rock – usually with cement grout or casting concrete. The bearing stratum is logged during installation drilling to assure that bearing capacity is adequate. Micro-piles do not rely on end-bearing capacity, so there is no need to establish the competency of rock beyond bond-depth. They can be installed quickly in virtually every type of ground using highly adaptable mobile drilling equipment.
